To create more choice in how you choose to travel, a new train station is to be built within Cranbrook. Travel by train provides a fast, reliable and frequent alternative to the motorcar whether travelling for business or leisure. The train station is anticipated to be opening in late 2014 / early 2015..

The train station will offer a number of journey opportunities to key locations. To the east, the destinations include Honiton, Yeovil, Salisbury, Basingstoke, Woking and London Waterloo and to the west to Exeter (Central and St David’s) with services on to Plymouth and Cornwall. Connecting services are also available from St David’s to Taunton, London Paddington, Bristol and Birmingham.

The trains will stop at the new train station every 30 minutes during the peak and hourly off peak. The journey time to Honiton and Exeter will only be 10 minutes, quicker than the car and no need to find a parking place.

The rail station will include real time information on train times, ticketing purchasing facilities and lockable secure cycle parking facilities.

The location in relation to the initial phase is shown below.
